Three hundred pieces of legislation are set to take effect on July 1, 2025. This legislation will impose a new 3% tax on the sale of many informational technology services, make changes to the income tax and make changes to the tax or fee structure for cannabis, vehicle emissions, and mobile sports wagering. Other changes are being made to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, expanding solar-siting options, and allowing state funds to be used for abortions for uninsured and underinsured state residents.
An article in Maryland Matters summarizes these changes and a few others. A Baltimore Banner article (subscription required) also summarizes legislation taking effect.
