Health Committee Vice Chair, Bonnie Cullison, announced during a speech on the House floor this week that she would not be seeking reelection this fall, ending her legislative career after four terms representing District 19 in the Maryland House of Delegates.

First elected to the House in 2010, Cullison spent her entire legislative career on the Health and Government Operations Committee, now the Health Committee, where she is currently serving as Vice Chair under Chair Heather Bagnall. Cullison was instrumental in the formation of the Prescription Drug Affordability Board, school-based health clinics, and the Trans Health Equity Act.

Cullison reflected on her decision with gratitude, “I have been honored and humbled to have been elected by the constituents and voters of District 19 four times,” she said. “I have decided after a lot of reflection and soul searching, not to run for a fifth term. It is time for Marcia and I to begin to really maximize our time together in these golden years. She thanked her colleagues, staff, and constituents, emphasizing how honored she has been to serve the voters of District 19.
